Oil Pan: Removal

    WARNING: Before servicing a vehicle equipped with a fire suppression system, depower the system by following the procedure in FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM article. Failure to follow the instructions may result in serious personal injury.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING article.
  2. Remove the front crossmember. For additional information, refer to FULL FRAME & BODY MOUNTING article.
  3. Remove the bolt and the nut. Position the transmission cooler tubes aside.

  5. Drain the engine oil.
    • Install the drain plug when finished.
    • Tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
  6. Detach the 2 pin-type wire harness retainers.
  7. Remove the oil pan bolts in the sequence shown in illustration.

  9. Remove the oil pan and the gasket.
