Exhaust Manifold - LH: Installation

Install the 8 new exhaust manifold studs.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
Install a new exhaust manifold gasket, the exhaust manifold and 8 new nuts.
- Tighten in sequence shown in illustration to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).

Install the LH HO2S. For additional information, refer to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS article.
Connect the EGR system module tube to the exhaust manifold.
- Tighten to 43 Nm (32 lb-ft).
Position the catalytic converter flange and install the new catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
- Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
Install the exhaust manifold heat shield and the 2 bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Position the intermediate shaft on the steering gear and install the pinch bolt.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM article. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

If equipped with fire suppression system, repower the system.
