Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. 4.6L engines 

  3. Remove the fluid cooler tube bracket at the engine.

    4.0L engines 

  5. Remove the fluid cooler tube bracket at the engine.

    All vehicles 

    NOTE: Use a backup wrench to hold the case fitting secure.
  7. Remove the fluid cooler tubes at the transmission.

  9. Remove both transmission cooler tube quick connect secondary latches.

  11. Using the special tool, disconnect both transmission cooler tubes from the transmission cooler hoses.
