Disassembly And Assembly

Disassemble the input shaft.
1. Remove the 3rd/4th synchronizer blocking ring.
2. Remove the input shaft thrust washer.
3. Remove the input shaft thrust bearing.
4. Remove the input shaft pocket bearing.
5. Inspect all components for wear or damage. Install new components as necessary.

Using the special tool and a press, remove the input shaft front bearing assembly. Discard the bearing.

Inspect the input shaft, the input shaft pocket bearing, the thrust bearing and the thrust washer for wear or damage. Install new components as necessary.
Using the special tools and a press, install the new input shaft front bearing.

NOTE: Lubricate the bearing and bearing race with petroleum jelly.

Install the input shaft pocket bearing, the thrust washer, the thrust bearing and the 3rd/4th synchronizer blocking ring.
