Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
  2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
    VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

    Mechanical Electrical
    • Front seat track
    • Seat at limit(s) of travel
    • Seat tracks obstructed or damaged
    • Power lumbar assembly damaged
    • Heated seat fuse bussed electrical center (BEC) fuse 66 (25A)
    • Driver power seat and lumbar BEC fuse 14 (30A)
    • Passenger power seat BEC fuse 15 (30A)
    • Loose, corroded or damaged connectors
    • Seat control switch
    • Heated seat switch (part of heating ventilation air conditioning [HVAC] module)
    • Heated seat relays
    • Lumbar control switch
    • Cushion heater mat
    • Backrest heater mat
  3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  4. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom. Go to Symptom Chart .
