Initial Adjustment

NOTE:
The following procedure must be carried out after a door window glass or a door window regulator and motor is replaced, or removed and re-installed.
NOTE:
The LH or RH front window motor must be de-initialized, then initialized whenever the front window motor is removed from the window regulator, a new window regulator and motor is installed, a new window glass is installed or for any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the window regulator or glass run.
- Remove the door opening weatherstrip.
- Close the door.
- Check the dimension of the gap between the door window glass and the weatherstrip retainer in the locations shown. If the dimension is within the specification, only a final adjustment may be required.

- 10.5 mm (0.41 in) (convertible)

- Remove the door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
- Remove the water shield.
- Loosen the 2 (front and rear) door window glass bolts.
- Fully close the door.
- Adjust the door window glass by physically moving the glass to the desired position and tighten the door window glass bolts.
- Tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb-in).
- From underneath the door, loosen the front window regulator guide rail lock nut.
- Operate the door window glass to the full down position.
- Tighten the front window regulator guide rail lock nut.
- Operate the door window glass to the full up position and verify the dimensions meet the specification as outlined in the initial adjustment graphics. If necessary, re-adjust the glass as outlined in the previous steps.
- Install the door opening weatherstrip.
- Install the water shield.
- Install the door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
- Initialize the door window motor. For additional information, refer to Window Motor Initialization .
- Operate the window up and down several times to check for smooth operation and adequate sealing properties (it may be necessary to carry out a water leak test with a hose).
NOTE:
As the door window glass is moved up and down, the door window glass clamps have plastic inserts equipped with ramp-style surfaces that tip the glass in or out as the glass assembly is slid up or down.
