Removal And Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Remove the floor console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE article.
  3. Release the tension on the parking brake cable. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release  in this article.
  4. Disconnect the front parking brake cable from the 2 rear parking brake cables at the equalizer and release the front cable from the body bracket.

  6. Disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector.
  7. Remove the 2 nuts from the parking brake control.
    • To install, tighten to 17 Nm (13 lb-ft).
  8. Remove the 2 bolts from the parking brake control.
    • To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
  9. Remove the parking brake control.
    • Position the cable and equalizer through the floorpan.
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
