Wheel and Tire: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. NOTE: Do not use heat to loosen a seized wheel nut. Heat can damage the wheel and wheel bearings.
    NOTE: Place the center cap face up after removal to avoid damage.
  3. If equipped, remove the center cap.
  4. NOTE: Do not use heat to loosen a seized wheel because heat can damage the wheel and the wheel bearings. If the wheel cannot be removed by hand, use a wheel puller to remove the seized wheel.
  5. Remove the wheel nuts and the wheel and tire assembly.
