Halfshaft - RH: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Remove the front tire and wheel. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES article.
  3. NOTE: Apply the brake to keep the halfshaft from rotating.
  4. Remove and discard the front wheel hub nut.

  6. Remove the ball joint nut and separate the lower control arm from the knuckle.
  7. Using the special tool, separate the halfshaft from the wheel hub.

  9. Remove the bolt from the brake tube bracket.

  11. Remove the 2 lower scrivets from the rubber shield and position and shield aside.

    NOTE: Support the knuckle with a suitable jackstand.
  13. Pull the knuckle outboard and rotate it toward the rear of the vehicle.

  15. Remove the 2 bearing support nuts.

  17. Remove the RH halfshaft assembly.
