Drive Pinion Seal: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.

NOTE: Index-mark the pinion and pinion flange to the rear of the driveshaft.

NOTE: Support the driveshaft.

Remove the 3 bolt and washer assemblies and discard.

Using the special tool, hold the pinion flange and remove the nut.
- Discard the nut.

Index-mark the location of the pinion to the yoke.

Using the special tool, remove the pinion flange.

Using the special tool, remove the seal.
