Removal And Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Remove the rear lamps. For additional information, refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTING article.
- Remove the 8 rear bumper cover screws (4 each side) and 2 scrivets (1 each side) in the wheel well.
- From inside the luggage compartment, remove the luggage compartment trim panel.
- Remove the 2 plastic rivets (1 each side) from the upper rear bumper cover.
- Remove the 6 rear bumper cover nuts.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- If equipped, disconnect the rear parking aid electrical connector.
- Disconnect the license plate lamp electrical connector, if equipped.
- Remove the rear bumper cover.
- Inspect the bumper cover mounting reinforcements for damage. If necessary, install new bumper cover mounting reinforcements before installation.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
The forward upper portion of the bumper cover must be pulled outward to unclip it from body.
