Removal And Installation

- Release the tension on the parking brake system. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release .
- Disconnect the RH parking brake cable from the equalizer and detach the cable from the support spring.
- Compress the tabs and disconnect the RH parking brake cable conduit from the frame bracket.
- Remove the RH parking brake cable bracket bolt from the differential and separate the bracket from the brake tube.
- To install, tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
- Remove the parking brake cable wire form bracket bolt from the lower shock mount.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).
- Compress the tabs and disconnect the parking brake cable conduit from the RH bracket assembly.
- Release the rear parking brake cable from the parking brake actuating lever and remove the cable.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
