Removal And Installation

  1. Release the tension on the parking brake system. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release .
  2. Disconnect the RH parking brake cable from the equalizer and detach the cable from the support spring.
  3. Compress the tabs and disconnect the RH parking brake cable conduit from the frame bracket.
  4. Remove the RH parking brake cable bracket bolt from the differential and separate the bracket from the brake tube.
    • To install, tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
  5. Remove the parking brake cable wire form bracket bolt from the lower shock mount.
    • To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).
  6. Compress the tabs and disconnect the parking brake cable conduit from the RH bracket assembly.

  8. Release the rear parking brake cable from the parking brake actuating lever and remove the cable.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
