Range Selection: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Mercury Mariner and 2008 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The powertrain control module (PCM) receives range selector position by monitoring 3 independent voltage signals from the transmission range (TR) sensor. The TR voltages are then compared to an allowed voltage range for each gear.
