3-2 Timing/Coast Clutch Solenoid (3-2 T/CCS)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Mercury Mariner and 2008 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The 3-2 timing/coast clutch solenoid (3-2 T/CCS) is a VFS. The VFS type solenoid is an electro-hydraulic actuator combining a solenoid and a regulating valve. It supplies pressure to the S3 circuit to control the release of the direct clutch and to apply the intermediate and overdrive band during a 3-2 downshift. This solenoid also regulates the pressure in the S3 circuit to control the application and release of the coast clutch.
