Removal And Installation

- Remove the stoplamp switch. For additional information, refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
- Remove the instrument panel. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
- Remove the brake booster push rod pin clip and pin, then disconnect the push rod from the brake pedal arm.
- Remove the 4 brake pedal bracket nuts.
- To install, tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).
- Lift the brake pedal and bracket off of the hangers and remove the brake pedal and bracket.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
Always remove the stoplamp switch with the brake pedal secured to the brake booster push rod and with the brake pedal in the at-rest position. Do not press or pull on the brake pedal when removing the switch or damage to switch can occur.
CAUTION:
The stoplamp switch must be removed prior to removing the brake pedal and bracket, brake booster and associated mounting fasteners or damage to the switches can occur.
