Normal Operation

The brake pedal pressure transducer is integral to the hydraulic control unit (HCU). The transducer sends a signal to the ABS module proportional to the brake pedal input from the driver. This signal is checked against other inputs and it does not agree with those inputs, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1288 is set. If a new transducer needs to be installed, then a new HCU must be installed.
If the transducer is open, shorted to ground or shorted to voltage, DTC C1288 will be set.
Possible Causes
- Brake pedal binding
- Air in the brake hydraulic system
- Fluid leak in the brake hydraulic system
- Brake on/off (BOO) switch
- HCU
