Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart

The DTCs can be retrieved from the restraints control module (RCM) and the occupant classification system module (OCSM) with a scan tool via the data link connector (DLC).

B229B Occupant Classification Sensor Obstruction Occupant classification system module (OCSM)
NOTE: If no on-demand or continuous DTC is present in the RCM and DTC B229B is only present in the OCSM as continuous, RESOLVE and CLEAR all OCSM DTCs and PROVE OUT the SRS.

NOTE: DTC B1013 will set if a new Occupant Classification System (OCS) component is installed.
Occupant Classification System Calibration Fault
OCSM CARRY OUT Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) System Reset. REFER to Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) System Reset .
B1231 Event Threshold Exceeded RCM INSTALL a new RCM and impact sensors. REFER to Inspection and Repair After a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Deployment .
B1231 Event Threshold Exceeded OCSM INSTALL a new passenger seat track assembly with OCS weight sensor bolts. REFER to SEATING and Inspection and Repair After a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Deployment .
B1317 Battery Voltage High RCM CHECK battery voltage; to be below 18 volts. REFER to CHARGING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
B1317 Battery Voltage High OCSM
NOTE: If no on-demand or continuous DTC is present in the RCM and DTC B1317 is only present in the OCSM continuous, CLEAR all OCSM DTCs and PROVE OUT the SRS.
CHECK battery voltage; to be below 18 volts. REFER to CHARGING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
B1318 Battery Voltage Low RCM CHECK battery voltage; to be above 8 volts. REFER to CHARGING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
B1318 Battery Voltage Low OCSM
NOTE: If no on-demand or continuous DTC is present in the RCM and DTC B1318 is only present in the OCSM continuous, CLEAR all OCSM DTCs and PROVE OUT the SRS.
CHECK battery voltage; to be above 8 volts. REFER to CHARGING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
B1342 ECU (RCM) Is Faulted RCM INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to Restraints Control Module (RCM) .
B1342 ECU (OCSM) Is Faulted OCSM Go to Pinpoint Test B 
B1868 Lamp Air Bag Warning Indicator Circuit Failure RCM Go to Pinpoint Test C .
B1884 PAD Warning Lamp Circuit Failure RCM Go to Pinpoint Test D .
B1890 PAD Warning Lamp Circuit Short to Battery RCM Go to Pinpoint Test E .
B2290 Occupant Classification System Fault RCM
NOTE: If no on-demand or continuous DTC is present in the OCSM and DTC B2290 is only present in the RCM as a continuous DTC, CLEAR all RCM DTCs and PROVE OUT the SRS.
The OCSM reported a fault message to the RCM. CARRY OUT on-demand self-test of the OCSM and RETRIEVE continuous DTCs.

NOTE: When installing a new RCM, always make sure the correct RCM is being installed. If an incorrect RCM is installed, erroneous DTCs will result.

C1946 Front Driver's Seat Track Position Switch Circuit Open RCM Go to Pinpoint Test V .
C1947 Front Driver's Seat Track Position Switch Circuit Short to Ground RCM Go to Pinpoint Test W .

U0100 Lost Communication With ECM/PCM RCM REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose the communication concern.
U0100 Lost Communication With ECM/PCM OCSM REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose the communication concern.
U0151 Lost Communication With Restraints Control Module OCSM REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose the communication concern.
U0154 Lost Communication With Restraints Occupant Classification System Module RCM REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose the communication concern.
U0401 Invalid Data received From ECM/PCM A RCM RETRIEVE PCM DTCs. If DTCs are present in the PCM, REFER to Introduction - Gasoline Engines to diagnose the concern. If DTCs are not present in the PCM and DTC U0401 is present in the RCM as a on-demand DTC, INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to Restraints Control Module (RCM) .
U0455 Invalid Data Received From Restraints Occupant Classification System Module RCM REPAIR all on-demand OCSM DTCs, CLEAR all RCM DTCs and PROVE OUT the SRS.
If no on-demand or continuous DTCs are present in the OCSM and DTC U0455 is only present in the RCM continuous, CLEAR all RCM DTCs and PROVE OUT the SRS.
If no on-demand or continuous DTCs are present in the OCSM and DTC U0455 is present on-demand in the RCM, INSTALL a new OCSM.
REFER to Occupant Classification Module - Manual Seat Track  or Occupant Classification Module - Power Seat Track .
U2050 No Application Present RCM INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to Restraints Control Module (RCM) .
U2050 No Application Present OCSM INSTALL a new OCSM.
U2051 One or More Calibration Files Missing/Corrupt RCM INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to Restraints Control Module (RCM) .
