  • CHECK the operation of the speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer.
    • If the speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer operate correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer do not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
  • The DRIVER DOOR, PASSENGER DOOR, REAR LEFT DOOR, REAR RIGHT DOOR AJAR, LIFTGATE AJAR or PLEASE CLOSE DOOR warning is inoperative
  • SJB

  • OBSERVE the door ajar warning indicator.
    • If the door ajar warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the door ajar warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
  • The PARK BRAKE ENGAGED warning is inoperative
  • SJB
  • Instrument cluster
  • OBSERVE the BRAKE warning indicator.
    • If the BRAKE warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the BRAKE warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
  • The PRESS RESET TO CLEAR message is inoperative
  • Instrument cluster
    NOTE: The PRESS RESET TO CLEAR is displayed following other warning displays that can be reset such as the low washer fluid level or low fuel level. The PRESS RESET TO CLEAR does not display when warnings that cannot be reset are active such as any of the door ajar warnings.
  • VERIFY the message center switch operates correctly when each switch button is pressed.
    • If the message center switch operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the message center switch does not operate correctly, go to Pinpoint Test B .
  • The LOW FUEL LEVEL warning is inoperative
  • Fuel gauge indication above the level required to turn on the warning message
  • Instrument cluster
  • VERIFY that the odometer and fuel gauge are operating correctly and the DTE display is 80 km (50 miles) to empty or less.
    • If the DTE display is above 80 km (50 miles) to empty, the system is operating correctly. The low fuel warning is turned on when the DTE display is 80 km (50 miles) to empty or less.
  • The CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM warning is inoperative
  • ABS
  • SJB
  • Instrument cluster
  • OBSERVE the BRAKE warning indicator.
    • If the BRAKE warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the BRAKE warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
  • The LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL warning is inoperative
  • SJB
  • Instrument cluster
  • OBSERVE the BRAKE warning indicator.
    • If the BRAKE warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the BRAKE warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
  • The LOW TIRE PRESSURE, TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR FAULT or TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT warning is inoperative
  • Instrument cluster
    NOTE: The TPMS warning indicator should also be illuminated when any of these messages appear.
  • VERIFY that the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning indicator operates correctly.
    • If the TPMS warning indicator operates correctly and is illuminated, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
