Pinpoint Test As: The Power Seats Are Inoperative - Second Row, Folding

  1. AS1 CHECK DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCs) 
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Smart Power Distribution Junction Box (SPDJB) Self Test/Retrieve DTCs
    • Are any DTCs present? 
    1. YES  : If DTC B2077 is present, REFER to INTERIOR LIGHTING .

      If DTC B2794 is present, go to  AS2.

      For all other DTCs, go to the appropriate section for diagnosis. Refer to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .

    2. NO  : Go to  AS7.
  2. AS2 CHECK CIRCUIT GD120 (BK/GN) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Battery Junction Box (BJB) Power-Fold Relay 25

    • Measure the resistance between power-fold relay cavity 86 BJB side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : Go to  AS3.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. AS3 CHECK CIRCUIT CPS48 (BU) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: Smart Power Distribution Junction Box (SPDJB) C2280c
    • Key in ON position.

    • Measure the voltage between SPDJB C2280c-24, circuit CPS48 (BU), harness side and ground.
    • Is the voltage less than 0.2 volt? 
    1. YES  : Go to  AS4.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. AS4 CHECK CIRCUIT CPS48 (BU) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    • Key in OFF position.

    • Measure the resistance between SPDJB C2280c-24, circuit CPS48 (BU), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms? 
    1. YES  : Go to  AS5.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
  5. AS5 CHECK CIRCUIT CPS48 (BU) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Connect a jumper wire between power-fold relay 25, cavity 85 BJB side and cavity 86 BJB side.

    • Measure the resistance between SPDJB C2280c-24, circuit CPS48 (BU), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : Go to  AS6.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
  6. AS6 CHECK THE POWER FOLD RELAY FOR AN OPEN 
    • Remove the jumper wire from the BJB.
    • Connect: BJB Power Fold Relay 25

    • Measure the resistance between SPDJB C2280c-24, circuit CPS48 (BU), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 100 ohms? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new SPDJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new power fold relay. REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
  7. AS7 CHECK CIRCUIT PDS58 (WH/BN) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: BJB Power-Fold Relay 25
    • Disconnect: Power Fold Switch C4351
    • Connect a jumper wire between power-fold relay 25, cavity 86 BJB side and cavity 87 BJB side.

    • Measure the resistance between power-fold switch C4351-2, circuit CPS58 (WH/BN), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : Go to  AS8.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  8. AS8 CHECK THE POWER FOLD RELAY 
    • Remove the jumper wire from the BJB.
    • Connect: BJB Power-Fold Relay 25
    • Open the liftgate.

      NOTE: If the relay is disabled after 30 minutes, it can be enabled by opening any door, pressing the unlock key on the key fob, pressing any keyless keypad button or turning the ignition key.
    • Measure the voltage between power fold switch C4351-2, circuit CPS58 (WH/BN), harness side and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new power-fold switch. REFER to Seat Control Switch - Rear Seat . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : VERIFY battery junction box (BJB) fuse 27 (10A) is OK. If OK, INSTALL a new power-fold relay. TEST the system for normal operation.
