Pinpoint Test Al: DTC B111D - Passenger Blower Driver OVERTEMPERATURE
- AL1 CHECK THE BLOWER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Depower the SRS. Refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General Procedures portion of SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- Disconnect: Passenger seat side air bag C327
- Disconnect: Passenger seat safety belt buckle pretensioner C3202
- Disconnect: CCSM C3036c
- Disconnect: Cushion TED C3328
- Disconnect: Backrest TED C3326
- Connect the battery ground cable.
- Measure the resistance between CCSM C3036c-8, circuit CHS08 (BN/YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
WARNING: Make sure no one is in the vehicle and there is nothing blocking or placed in front of any air bag module when the battery is connected. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury in the event of an accidental deployment.Courtesy of FORD MOTOR CO.
- YES : Go to AL2.
- NO
: REPAIR the affected circuit. REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs.
DISCONNECT the battery ground cable.
CONNECT passenger safety belt buckle pretensioner C3202. CONNECT passenger seat side air bag module C327.
REPOWER the SRS. REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- AL2 CHECK THE BLOWER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT
- Measure the resistance between CCSM C3036c-7, circuit RHS08 (VT/WH), harness side and C3036c-8, circuit CHS08 (BN/YE), harness side.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?

- YES : Go to AL3.
- NO
: REPAIR the affected circuits. REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs.
DISCONNECT the battery ground cable.
CONNECT passenger safety belt buckle pretensioner C3202. CONNECT passenger seat side air bag module C327.
REPOWER the SRS. REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- AL3 CHECK THE BLOWER RESISTANCE
- Measure the resistance between cushion TED C3328 pin 2 and pin 4, component side and between backrest TED C3326 pin 2 and pin 4, component side.
- Are the resistances between 6,000 ohms and 9,000 ohms?

CAUTION: The ohmmeter must be connected with the positive lead to pin 2 and the negative lead to pin 4 when measuring. Ohmmeter leads incorrectly connected will result in false readings and lead to incorrect identification of components that are not faulty.- YES
: INSTALL a new CCSM and CARRY OUT programmable module installation (PMI). REFER to Climate Controlled Seat Module . REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs.
DISCONNECT the battery ground cable.
CONNECT passenger safety belt buckle pretensioner C3202. CONNECT passenger seat side air bag module C327.
REPOWER the SRS. REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- NO
: If the resistance of the cushion TED was not
between 6,000 and 9,000 ohms, INSTALL a new cushion TED. REFER to Seat Cushion Thermo-Electric Device . REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs.
If the resistance of the backrest TED was not between 6,000 and 9,000 ohms, INSTALL a new backrest TED. REFER to Seat Backrest Thermo-Electric Device . REPEAT the self-test. CLEAR the DTCs.
DISCONNECT the battery ground cable. CONNECT passenger seat safety belt buckle pretensioner C3202. If equipped, CONNECT passenger seat side air bag module C327.
REPOWER the SRS. REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
