    • Measure the resistance between windshield wiper motor C1552-6, circuit GD120 (BK/GN), harness side and ground; and between windshield wiper motor C1552-3, circuit GD120 (BK/GN), harness side and ground.
    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
    1. YES  : Go to  A3.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. A3 CHECK THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH
    • Disconnect: Multi-function Switch C202
    • Carry out the multi-function switch component test.
    • Did the multi-function switch pass the component test?
    1. YES  : Go to  A4.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new multi-function switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES .
  4. A4 CHECK CIRCUIT GD116 (BK/VT) FOR AN OPEN
      Fig 3: Measuring Resistance Between Multi-Function Switch C202-15, Circuit GD116 (BK/VT) & Ground

    • Measure the resistance between multi-function switch C202-15, circuit GD116 (BK/VT), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
    1. YES  : Go to  A5.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  5. A5 CHECK FOR CORRECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR OPERATION
    • Disconnect all windshield wiper motor connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion.
      • pushed-out pins.
    • Connect all the windshield wiper motor connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present?
    1. YES  : Go to  A6.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. TEST the system for normal operation.
  6. A6 CHECK THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Windshield Wiper Motor C1552
    • Carry out the Wiper Motor - Windshield  component test as outlined.
    • Did the windshield wiper motor pass the component test?
    1. YES  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by binding or incorrect pivot arm adjustment. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new windshield wiper motor. REFER to Wiper Motor - Windshield .
