Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Lincoln MKX and 2007 Ford Edge. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

This sensor directly measures the mass of the air flowing into the engine. The sensor output is a DC (analog) signal ranging from about 0.5 volt to 5 volts by the PCM to calculate the injector pulse width for stoichiometric. The mass air flow (MAF) sensor input is used for EPC pressure control, shift and TCC control.
