Transaxle Description

The 6F50 automatic transaxle is a 6-speed transaxle with electronic shift control. It is designed for operation in a transverse powertrain for front wheel drive (FWD) and all wheel drive (AWD) vehicles and has the following major components:
- Case with torque converter housing
- Two drive clutches:
- direct clutch
- overdrive clutch
- Four brake clutches:
- forward clutch
- one-way roller clutch
- low/reverse clutch
- intermediate clutch
- Three planetary gear sets:
- front
- center
- rear
- Final drive gearset
- Differential
- Pump assembly
- Main control
