Valve and Seat Refacing Measurements

CAUTION: After grinding valves or valve seats, check valve clearance.

Check the valve head and seat.
- Check valve angles.
- Check margin width.
- Be sure margin width is within specification. For additional information, refer to the specification chart in the appropriate engine procedure
- If out of specification, install new components as necessary. Refer to ENGINE - 2.3L , ENGINE - 3.0L (2V) or ENGINE - 4.0L SINGLE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT (SOHC) for the procedure.

Inspect for abnormalities on the valve face and seat. Install a new cylinder head assembly if abnormalities are found.
