Side Impact Sensor - Second Row, C-Pillar: Installation

  1. Connect the electrical connector to the side impact sensor.
  2. NOTE: Make sure the C-pillar and side impact sensor mating surfaces are clean and free of foreign material.
  3. Align the side impact sensor locator tabs to the openings in the C-pillar sheet metal.
  4. WARNING: The tightening torque of the air bag side impact sensor retaining bolt is critical for correct system operation.
  5. Install the side impact sensor bolt.
    • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
  6. Install the C-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION article.
  7. Repower the system. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .
