Pinpoint Test F: A Single Power Window Is Inoperative - RH Rear

NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
  1. F1 CHECK THE RH REAR POWER WINDOW OPERATION FROM LH FRONT CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Attempt to operate the RH rear window from the LH front window control switch.
    • Does the RH rear window operate when using the LH front window control switch? 
    • Yes  : GO to F2.
    • No  : GO to  F4.
  2. F2 CHECK CIRCUIT CPW14 (VT/WH) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: RH Rear Window Control Switch C801.
    • Ignition ON.
    • NOTE: Make sure the LH window control switch lockout switch is in the UNLOCK position.
    • Measure the voltage between RH rear window control switch C801-3, circuit CPW14 (VT/WH), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new RH rear window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : GO to F3.
  3. F3 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504.
    • Carry out the LH front window control switch component test.

      Refer to SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for component testing.

    • Did the window control switch pass the component test? 
    • Yes  : REPAIR open in circuit CPW14 (VT/WH). TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. F4 CHECK THE RH REAR POWER WINDOW OPERATION FROM RH REAR CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Attempt to operate the RH rear window from the RH rear window control switch.
    • Does the RH rear window operate when using the RH rear window control switch? 
    • Yes  : GO to F5.
    • No  : GO to  F6.
  5. F5 CHECK CIRCUITS CPW18 (GY/VT) AND CPW17 (BN/GN) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Measure the resistance between RH rear window control switch C801-1, circuit CPW18 (GY/VT), harness side and LH front window control switch C504-13, circuit CPW18 (GY/VT), harness side.

    • Measure the resistance between RH rear window control switch C801-4, circuit CPW17 (BN/GN), harness side and LH front window control switch C504-2, circuit CPW17 (BN/GN), harness side.

    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.
  6. F6 CHECK THE HIGH CURRENT POWER TO THE RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH Rear Window Control Switch C801.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Measure the voltage between RH rear window control switch C801-5, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and ground.

  7. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : GO to F7.
    • No  : VERIFY Smart Junction Box (SJB) circuit breaker 47 (30A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

    If not OK, REFER to the appropriate Systems Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  8. F7 CHECK THE GROUND TO THE RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Measure the resistance between RH rear window control switch C801-8, circuit GD145 (BK/BU), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : GO to F8.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  9. F8 CHECK THE RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Carry out the RH rear window control switch component test.

      Refer to SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for component testing.

    • Did the RH rear window control switch pass the component test? 
    • Yes  : GO to F9.
    • No  : INSTALL a new RH rear window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
  10. F9 CHECK CIRCUITS CPW24 (WH/VT) AND CPW23 (GY) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: RH Rear Window Motor C803.
    • Measure the resistance between RH rear window control switch C801-6, circuit CPW24 (WH/VT), harness side and RH rear window motor C803-2, circuit CPW24 (WH/VT), harness side.

    • Measure the resistance between RH rear window control switch C801-7, circuit CPW23 (GY), harness side and RH rear window motor C803-1, circuit CPW23 (GY), harness side.

    • Are both resistances less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new RH rear window motor. REFER to WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR - REAR DOOR . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.
