Removal and Installation

WARNING: Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag, Safety Canopy® or side air curtain modules. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of these modules, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
WARNING: Never probe the electrical connectors on safety belt buckle/retractor pretensioners or adaptive load limiting retractors. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of the safety belt pretensioners or adaptive load limiting retractors, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
  1. Remove the front seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - FRONT .
  2. Remove the front seat backrest. For additional information, refer to SEAT BACKREST - FRONT, WITHOUT FOLD FLAT  or SEAT BACKREST - FRONT, WITH FOLD FLAT .
  3. NOTE: Driver seat track shown, passenger similar.

  4. If equipped, disconnect the cushion heater mat electrical connector at the front of the seat track and separate the wire harness retainer.
  5. Release the J-clips and remove the cushion trim cover and cushion foam pad.
  6. Remove the seat track cover.
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Slide the seat track cover stud out.
    3. Slide back and remove the seat track cover.

  7. NOTE: Note driver seat wire harness routing for correct installation.
  8. Remove the cushion wire harness. For correct passenger seat wire harness routing, refer to SEAT WIRE HARNESS ROUTING .
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • If a new seat track has been installed on a driver seat with memory, operate the seat in all directions through the full range of travel to set soft stops and avoid a premature stopping point occurrence after the vehicle is returned to the customer.
  10. Install the front seat backrest. For additional information, refer to SEAT BACKREST - FRONT, WITHOUT FOLD FLAT  or SEAT BACKREST - FRONT, WITH FOLD FLAT .
  11. Install the front seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - FRONT .
