Seat Recliner Motor - Front: Installation

  1. Install the recline motor in the following sequence.
    1. Connect the recline motor electrical connector.
    2. Slide the long recliner shaft into the recline motor and recliner.
    3. Slide the sleeve and short recliner shaft onto the long recliner shaft.
    4. Slide the recliner shaft assembly into the recliner on the other side.
    5. Position the recline motor and install the bolt.
      • Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
    6. Install the clip on the recliner shaft recession, near the recline motor.
  2. Install the power lumbar in the following sequence.
    1. Squeeze the power lumbar retaining clip together and engage it into the backrest frame.
      • Repeat for the power lumbar retaining clip on the other side.
    2. Connect the power lumbar motor electrical connector.
  3. Position the backrest foam pad back around the backrest frame.
  4. Connect the backrest heated seat mat and attach the connector pin-type retainer to the backrest frame.
  5. Roll the backrest trim cover down and install the 3 first row hog rings.

  6. Roll the backrest trim cover all the way down and engage the lower J-clips.
    • Make sure the side air bag module wire harness is routed out from the outboard side of the backrest before engaging the lower J-clips.
    • Make sure the backrest feed wire harness is routed out from the inboard side of the backrest before engaging the lower J-clips.
  7. Attach the cushion side shield in the following sequence.
    1. Return all retaining clips back to the cushion side shield before attaching to the seat.
    2. Align the 4 cushion side shield clips to the seat and push in seating the clips.
    3. Install the screw at the front of the cushion side shield.
    4. Install the screw at the rear of the cushion side shield.
    5. Install the scrivet at the rear of the cushion side shield.
  8. Install the recliner cover in the following sequence.
    1. Return the barrel nut back to the seat before attaching to the seat.
    2. Slide the recliner cover post into the barrel nut on the seat.
    3. Install the screw at the rear of the recliner cover.
    4. Install the scrivet at the rear of the recliner cover.
  9. Install the front seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - FRONT .
