Removal and Installation

NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON.
NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
NOTE: Always install a new cushion foam pad and new cushion heater mat together.
  1. Remove the seat cushion trim cover. For additional information, refer to SEAT CUSHION COVER - FRONT .
  2. NOTE: Driver seat track shown, passenger similar.

  3. At the front of the seat track, disconnect the cushion heater mat electrical connector and separate the wire harness retainer.
  4. Remove the cushion foam pad from the cushion frame. Discard the cushion foam pad with heater mat.
  5. Obtain a new cushion foam pad with the cushion heater mat already adhered to the cushion foam pad.
    • Do not remove the old cushion heater mat from the old cushion foam pad and reuse any of these parts.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
