Seat Control Switch - Front: Removal

NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
    WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.
  1. For passenger seat, turn the ignition OFF and wait at least one minute.
  2. For driver seat, remove the manual recliner handle, if equipped.
    1. Locate the clip between the seat cushion and side shield.
    2. Remove the clip and slide the handle off the shaft.

  3. For passenger seat, remove the manual recliner handle in the following sequence.
    1. Pull the back flap out to access the recliner handle clip.
    2. Locate the clip between the seat cushion and side shield.
    3. Remove the clip and slide the handle off the shaft.

  4. If equipped, remove the manual lumbar knob.
    1. Locate the clip between the seat cushion and side shield.
    2. Remove the clip and slide the knob off the shaft.

  5. For driver seat, pull out and remove the cushion side shield cover.
  6. For passenger seat, release the 3 clips, slide rearward and remove the cushion side shield cover.

  7. Separate the safety belt anchor from the seat.
    • For driver seat, remove the safety belt anchor bolt and separate the safety belt anchor from the seat.
    • For passenger seat, disconnect the Belt Tension Sensor (BTS) electrical connector, remove the safety belt anchor bolt and separate the safety belt anchor from the seat.
  8. Separate the cushion side shield.
    1. Remove the scrivet at the rear of the cushion side shield.
    2. Remove the screw at the rear of the cushion side shield.
    3. Remove the screw at the front of the cushion side shield.
    4. Pull out to release the clips and separate the cushion side shield.

  9. Separate the wire harness pin-type retainer, disconnect the seat control switch and remove the cushion side shield.

  10. Pull the seat control switch knob(s) off the switch.
  11. Release the retainers and remove the seat control switch.
