Seat Backrest - Front, With Fold Flat: Installation

  1. Position the backrest assembly to the seat track and install the 4 recliner-to-seat track bolts finger-tight.
  2. Tighten the 4 recliner-to-seat track bolts in the following sequence.
    1. Tighten the rear outboard bolt to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
    2. Tighten the rear inboard bolt to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
    3. Tighten the front inboard bolt to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
    4. Tighten the front outboard bolt to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

  3. Position the recliner cable into the 2 retainers under the seat and close the retainers.
  4. Attach the cushion trim cover J-clip at the rear.
  5. Install the inboard recliner lower cover in the following sequence.
    1. Align the inboard recliner lower cover to the inner cover and push in, seating the rear clips.
    2. Install the screw at the side of the inboard recliner lower cover.
    3. Install the screw at the back of the inboard recliner lower cover.
  6. If equipped, install the manual lumbar cable into the adjuster.
  7. Attach the wire harness and cable retainers.
    1. Route and attach the side air bag module wire harness pin-type retainer.
      • Seats with power seat track, route the side air bag module wire harness under the seat.
    2. If equipped, install the manual lumbar cable cover into the adjuster.
    3. If equipped, install the manual lumbar cable retainer.

  8. Seats with manual seat track, route the side air bag module wire harness under the seat.

  9. Position the cushion trim cover flap back around the side of the seat, attach all the outboard cushion trim cover J-clips and install the pin-type retainer.
  10. Seats with manual seat track, connect the electrical connector and attach the pin-type retainers under the seat. For correct passenger seat wire harness routing, refer to SEAT WIRE HARNESS ROUTING .
    1. Connect the side air bag module electrical connector and slide the locking clip to the lock position.
    2. Route the wire harness and attach the side air bag module electrical connector and wire harness retainers.

  11. Seats with power seat track, connect electrical connectors and attach the pin-type retainers under the seat. For correct passenger seat wire harness routing, refer to SEAT WIRE HARNESS ROUTING .
    1. Connect the side air bag module electrical connector and slide the locking clip to the lock position.
    2. Connect the backrest feed electrical connector.
    3. Route the wire harness and attach the connectors and wire harness retainers.

  12. Attach the cushion side shield in the following sequence.
    1. Return all retaining clips back to the cushion side shield before attaching to the seat.
    2. Align the cushion side shield clips to the seat and push in, seating the clips.
    3. Install the screw at the back of the cushion side shield.
    4. Install the screw at the side of the cushion side shield.
    5. Install the screw at the front of the cushion side shield.
  13. If equipped, install the manual lumbar handle in the following sequence.
    1. Install the clip onto the manual lumbar handle.
    2. Align the splines of the manual lumbar handle to the manual lumbar shaft.
    3. Push the manual lumbar handle onto the manual lumbar shaft, seating the clip.
  14. Install the front passenger seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - FRONT .
