Lumbar Assembly - Manual, Without Fold Flat: Removal
NOTE:
The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON.
NOTE:
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
- Remove the driver seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - FRONT .
- Remove the recliner cover.
- Remove the scrivet at the rear of the recliner cover.
- Remove the screw at the rear of the recliner cover.
- Slide the recliner cover post out of the seat track hole and remove the recliner cover.
- Remove the manual lumbar handle.
- Push the cushion trim cover and foam pad back and locate the manual lumbar handle clip under the cushion side shield.
- Remove the clip and slide the manual lumbar handle off the shaft.
- Separate the cushion side shield.
- Remove the scrivet at the rear of the cushion side shield.
- Remove the screw at the rear of the cushion side shield.
- Remove the screw at the front of the cushion side shield.
- Pull out to release the clips and separate the cushion side shield.
- Separate the manual lumbar cable.
- Remove the pin-type retainer, release all the outboard cushion trim cover J-clips and position the cushion trim cover flap up.
- Separate the manual lumbar cable retainer.
- Pull the manual lumbar cable cover out of the adjuster.
- Remove the manual lumbar cable from the adjuster.
- Pull the lumbar cable cover out of the adjuster.
- Remove the cable end from the adjuster.
- If necessary, remove the 2 rivets and the manual lumbar adjuster.
- Separate the backrest trim cover lower J-clips and invert the backrest trim cover up to the first row of hog rings.
- Remove the 3 first row hog rings.
- Invert the backrest trim cover up to the second row of hog rings.
- Remove the manual lumbar.
- Separate the manual lumbar cable pin-type retainer.
- Squeeze the manual lumbar retaining clips together, on each side and separate them from the backrest frame.
- Remove the manual lumbar.
NOTE:
The seat track rear height adjust must be all the way up or the recliner cover post will not slide out of the seat track hole.
