Disassembly and Assembly

NOTE: With the seat out of the vehicle and the backrest in the fold-flat position, the inboard latch foot must be in the latched position to pivot the backrest back to the upright position.
  1. Remove the seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - SECOND ROW .
  2. Remove the seat backrest. For additional information, refer to SEAT BACKREST - SECOND ROW, 40 PERCENT .
  3. Remove the seat backrest recliner. For additional information, refer to SEAT RECLINER - SECOND ROW, 40 PERCENT .
  4. Remove the inner pivot cover.
  5. Remove the safety belt buckle bolt and safety belt buckle.
    • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  6. Release the clip, separate the strut and the cushion trim cover hook-and-loop strips.

  7. Release the outer and inner J-clips at the rear of the cushion trim cover.
  8. From under the seat, release the cushion trim cover retainer from the outboard and inboard cushion frame.
    • Pull the inboard and outboard cushion trim cover retainers out from between the seat track and the cushion frame.

  9. Invert and remove the cushion trim cover from the cushion foam pad.
    • Remove the hog rings.
    10. NOTE: Always install a new cushion foam pad and new cushion heater mat together.
  10. Remove the cushion foam pad.
    • Disconnect the cushion heater mat electrical connector and release the pin-type retainer.
      • Note the wiring harness routing for installation.
  11. Remove the power-fold seat motor.
    • Remove the 2 power-fold seat motor screws.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Detach the release cable from the cushion frame.
      • Note release cable routing for installation.
  12. Remove the 6 seat track-to-cushion frame nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
  13. Detach the electrical connector and remove the seat track.
    • Note the cable routing for installation.
  14. Remove the 2 screws and inner inboard seat track cover.
  15. Remove the 2 screws and inner outboard seat track cover.
  16. Remove the 3 screws and outer inboard seat track cover.
  17. Remove the 3 screws and outer outboard seat track cover.
  18. Release the 2 snap retainers and remove the spring assist strut.
  19. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
