Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the rear bumper cover. For additional information, refer to BUMPER COVER - REAR .
  2. Remove the 4 rear bumper nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
  3. Remove the rear bumper.
  4. NOTE: Any time the rear bumper nuts are removed, it is necessary to re-tighten the rear bumper double-ended studs.

    Inspect the rear bumper double-ended studs for damage. If necessary, install new rear double-ended studs.

    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
