Liftgate Alignment
- Loosen the 4 liftgate hinge-to-liftgate bolts until the liftgate is able to move slightly.
- Align the liftgate to the body. For additional information, refer to margins in BODY REPAIRS .
- Tighten the 4 liftgate hinge-to-liftgate bolts.
- Tighten to 34 Nm (25 lb-ft).
- Position aside the liftgate weatherstrip.
- Remove the liftgate scuff plate pin-type retainers.

NOTE: To avoid damage to the liftgate scuff plate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the liftgate scuff plate trim panel before installing.
Remove the liftgate scuff plate.
- Pull upward to release the retaining clips.
- Loosen the 2 liftgate striker bolts until the striker is able to move slightly.
- Align the liftgate striker to the liftgate.
- Tighten the 2 liftgate striker bolts.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- For vehicles equipped with power liftgate, initialize the power liftgate. For additional information, refer to POWER LIFTGATE INITIALIZATION .
