Pinpoint Test H: The Power Liftgate Does Not Power Open (Power Close OK)

H1 CHECK THE MANUAL OPERATION OF THE LIFTGATE
NOTE: If any other power liftgate related DTCs are present, diagnose those first before proceeding with this pinpoint test. Refer to the LIFTGATE/TRUNK MODULE (LTM) DTC CHART .
- Ignition ON.
- Unlock all doors.
- Turn the power liftgate OFF (disable) from the message center.
- NOTE: A small amount of interference during a manual operation will be amplified during a power operation and may cause the liftgate to not power open.
- Manually open and close the liftgate.
- Does the liftgate unlatch, open, close and latch correctly?
- Yes : GO to H2.
- No : If liftgate does not unlatch correctly, REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS .
If liftgate does not open and close correctly, REFER to LIFTGATE .
H2 CHECK THE LIFTGATE LATCH AND STRIKER ALIGNMENT
- NOTE: Make sure to inspect the underside of the striker bridge for witness marks.
- Inspect the striker and latch for correct alignment.
- Is the latch and striker aligned correctly?
- Yes : Go To PINPOINT TEST A .
- No : ALIGN the liftgate and striker. TEST the system for normal operation.
