Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Disconnect the liftgate latch electrical connector.
  3. Remove the 3 (manual) or 4 (power) liftgate latch bolts and the liftgate latch.
    • To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
  4. If necessary, remove the 2 bolts and the liftgate latch striker.
    • To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
