Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the customer concern.
  2. Verify the exterior lighting system of the vehicle is operating correctly. If not, refer to the appropriate pinpoint test.
  3. Visually inspect for obvious signs of electrical damage.
    VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

    Electrical
    • Battery Junction Box (BJB) fuse(s):
      • 29 (30A) (Trailer Brake Control (TBC) module)
      • 30 (40A) (trailer tow battery charge relay switch side)
    • Smart Junction Box (SJB) fuse 33 (10A) (trailer tow battery charge relay coil)
    • Auxiliary relay box fuse(s):
      • 1 (10A) (trailer tow parking lamps)
      • 2 (15A) (trailer tow stop/turn lamp relays)
      • 12 (20A) (trailer tow park lamp relay)
    • Wiring, terminals or connectors
    • Trailer tow stop/turn lamp relays
    • Trailer tow park lamp relay
    • Trailer tow battery charge relay
    • Trailer tow connector
    • TBC  module
    • Trailer
  4. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom. GO to SYMPTOM CHART .
