Pinpoint Test F: The Power Seat Moves But Is Noisy

  1. F1 CHECK THE TRACK ALIGNMENT 
    • Check the alignment of the track to the floor and the track to the seat.
    • Is the track out of alignment? 
    1. YES  : ALIGN the track to the seat and the floor. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : Go to  F2.
  2. F2 CHECK THE SEAT TRACK INTEGRITY 
    • While operating the seat, inspect the seat track for binding and/or damage.
    • Does the seat track appear to be free from damage and binding? 
    1. YES  : Go to  F3.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new front seat track. REFER to Seat Track . TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. F3 CHECK THE SEAT MOTOR INTEGRITY 
    • While operating the seat, listen for excessive seat motor noise. Compare the noise to a similar vehicle for reference.
    • Is the seat motor noise excessive? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new front seat track. REFER to Seat Track . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : Allow the customer to compare to a similar vehicle to determine the amount of motor noise is product characteristic. TEST the system for normal operation.
