Removal And Installation

- Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
- Remove the degas bottle. For additional information, refer to Degas Bottle .
- Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the 2 thermostat housing-to-intake manifold hoses and position them aside.
- Disconnect the thermostat housing-to-lower radiator hose assembly and position it aside.
- Disconnect the thermostat housing-to-oil filter adapter hose and position it aside.
- Disconnect the thermostat housing-to-radiator hose and position it aside.
- Remove the 2 nuts and the thermostat housing.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
NOTE:
Upon installation, make sure all the hoses are fully seated against the stops.
