Lower Arm: Installation

    NOTE: Do not tighten the nut at this time.
  1. Position the lower arm and loosely install the shock absorber lower bolt and nut.
  2. NOTE: Do not tighten the nut at this time.
  3. Loosely install the lower arm forward nut and bolt.
  4. NOTE: Do not tighten the nut at this time.
  5. Loosely install the lower arm rearward nut and bolt.
  6. Install the stabilizer bar link lower nut.
    • Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
  7. Use a suitable jack to raise the suspension until the distance between the center of the hub and the lip of the fender is equal to the measurement taken in Step 1 (curb height).

    NOTE: Use a crow's foot wrench to tighten the lower arm rearward nut.
  9. Tighten the lower arm rearward nut to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).
  10. Tighten the lower arm forward nut to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).
  11. Tighten the shock absorber lower nut to 475 Nm (350 lb-ft).
  12. Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES article.
  13. Check and, if necessary, align the front end. For additional information, refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
