Seat Position Sensor

1 - Seat position sensor electrical connector (part of 14A699)
2 14B416 Seat position sensor
3 - Seat position sensor retaining clip (part of 14B416)
NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct restraints control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON.
NOTE: The supplemental restraint system (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

All seats 

  1. Remove the driver seat. For additional information, refer to SEATING article.
  2. Disconnect the seat position sensor electrical connector.
  3. Power seats 

  4. Detach the wire harness routing pin-type retainer from the seat position sensor bracket.

    All seats 

  6. Push apart then inward to release the seat position sensor locking clip.

  8. Slide the seat position sensor rearward to release the 2 hooks from the bracket. Then remove the seat position sensor.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  10. Repower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .
