Normal Operation

When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, voltage is supplied to the fixed backlighting switches from the accessory delay relay on circuit 1499 (PK/LG). When the headlamp switch is turned to the ON position, the smart junction box (SJB) monitors the input from the instrument panel dimmer switch. The SJB then sends a variable voltage signal to each of the dimmable backlighting components through circuits 1417 (LG/RD) and 1418 (LB/WH). With the exception of the overhead console, the backlighting components are grounded on circuit 1205 (BK). The overhead console is grounded on circuit 1203 (BK/LB).

DTC B2026 - sets when the SJB detects a short to ground on circuit 1417 (LG/RD) or circuit 1418 (LB/WH).

DTC B2027 - sets when the SJB detects a short to voltage, or ground on circuit 1417 (LG/RD).
