Pinpoint Test A: The Climate Control Illumination Is Inoperative - Front Or Rear (If Equipped)
CAUTION:
Use the correct probe adaptor(s) when making measurements. Failure to use he correct probe adaptor(s) may damage the connector.
- A1 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT 1417 (LG/RD) FOR VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Inoperative Climate Control Assembly
- Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS ON position.
- Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the full illumination position.
- Measure the voltage between the climate control assembly C294a-2, circuit 1417 (LG/RD), harness side or between the RICP C9025-17, circuit 1417 (LG/RD), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- YES : Go to A2.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- A2 CHECK CIRCUITS 1203 (BK/LB) AND 1205 (BK) FOR GROUND
- Measure the resistance between the climate control assembly C294a-1, circuit 1203 (BK/LB), harness side or between the RICP C9025-7, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- YES : INSTALL a new climate control component (front or rear). REFER to CLIMATE CONTROL article. TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
