Pinpoint Test B: A Single Power Window Is Inoperative - LH Front

NOTE: The ignition switch must be cycled from OFF to RUN.
  1. B1 CHECK CIRCUIT 400 (LB/BK) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C508a
    • Key in ON position.

    • Measure the voltage between LH front window control switch C508a-4, circuit 400 (LB/BK) harness side and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B2.
    2. NO  : Go to  B5.
  2. B2 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND

    • Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C508a-1, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground; and between LH front window control switch C508a-5, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms on both circuits? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B3.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. B3 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Remove the LH front window control switch.
    • Carry out the LH front window control switch component test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING article.
    • Did the LH front window control switch pass the component test? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B4.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. B4 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE DRIVER WINDOW MOTOR 
    • Connect: LH Front Window Control Switch C508a
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Motor C518

    • While pressing the LH front window control switch to the up position, measure the voltage between LH front window motor C518-1, circuit 333 (YE/RD) harness side and ground; while pressing the LH front window control switch to the down position, measure the voltage between LH front window motor. C518-2, circuit 334 (RD/YE) harness side and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts on both circuits? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new LH front window motor. REFER to Glass, Frames and Mechanisms - Exploded View  and Window Regulator - Front Door . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  5. B5 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY 2 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay 2 C2282
    • Carry out the accessory delay relay 2 component test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING article.
    • Did the accessory delay relay 2 pass the component test? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B6.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new accessory delay relay 2. TEST the system for normal operation.
  6. B6 CHECK VOLTAGE SOURCE TO THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY 2

    • Measure the voltage between accessory delay relay 2 C2282-85, circuit 964 (DB/LG) and ground; and between accessory delay relay 2 C2282-30, circuit 964 (DB/LG) and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts on both circuits? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B7.
    2. NO  : Go to  B8.
  7. B7 CHECK CIRCUIT 400 (LB/BK) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280g

    • Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C508a-4, circuit 400 (LB/BK) harness side and SJB C2280g-5, circuit 400 (LB/BK), harness side.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B9.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  8. B8 CHECK CIRCUIT 964 (DB/LG) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280h

    • Measure the voltage between SJB C2280h-28, circuit 964 (DB/LG), harness side and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B9.
    2. NO  : VERIFY the bussed electrical center (BEC) fuse 6 (30A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  9. B9 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all SJB connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion.
      • pushed-out pins.
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they are seated correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
