Pinpoint Test A: The Clock Operation Is Erratic/Inoperative

CAUTION: Use the correct probe adaptor(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adaptor(s) may damage the connector.
  1. A1 CHECK CIRCUIT 1111 (VT) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Clock C2016

    • Measure the voltage between the clock C2016-6, circuit 1111 (VT), harness side and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : Go to  A2.
    2. NO  : VERIFY the SJB fuse 11 (5A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. A2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1205 (BK) FOR AN OPEN

    • Measure the resistance between the clock C2016-3, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new clock. REFER to Clock  in this article. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
