Pinpoint Test H: The Ambient Lighting Control Switch Illumination Is Inoperative

  1. H1 CHECK CIRCUIT 29S-LB32 (OG/BU) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Ambient Lighting Control Switch C3250
    • With the parking lamps on, rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the full illumination position.

    • Measure the voltage between the ambient lighting control switch C3250-8, circuit 29S-LB32 (OG/BU), harness side and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : Go to  H2.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. H2 CHECK CIRCUIT 31-LC23 (BK) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Turn the parking lamps off.

    • Measure the resistance between the ambient lighting control switch C3250-4, circuit 31-LC23 (BK), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new ambient lighting control switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
