Halfshaft Seal - RH: Installation

  1. Using the special tool, install the halfshaft oil seal.

  2. CAUTION: Support the halfshaft. The inner joint must not bend more than 18 degrees. The outer joint must not be bent more than 45 degrees.

  3. Attach the intermediate shaft and halfshaft to the transaxle.
  4. NOTE: Install a new intermediate shaft center bearing cap and nuts.
  5. Install the intermediate shaft center bearing cap.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  6. CAUTION: Protect the ball joint seal using a soft cloth to prevent damage.
  7. Attach the lower arm ball joint to the wheel knuckle.
    • Tighten the nut to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

  8. NOTE: The fill height is 5-10 mm below the lower edge of the filler hole.
  9. Remove the transmission fluid filler plug. Check the transaxle fluid level and top up with Manual transmission fluid if necessary.
    • Tighten the transmission fluid filler plug to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).

  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Tighten the strut and spring assembly top mount nuts.
    • Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
