Removal and Installation

Remove the driver air bag module. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

If equipped, disconnect the speed control electrical connector.

Remove the bolt and the steering wheel.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

WARNING: When installing the steering wheel, make sure the air bag sliding contact is centralized. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM . Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

CAUTION: After installation, check the correct location of the steering wheel on the steering column shaft by turning the steering wheel in a counterclockwise direction.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
