P0571 - Brake Switch A Circuit

P0571 - BRAKE SWITCH A CIRCUIT

Description:  The purpose of this DTC is to check whether the brake switch has toggled or not during the KOER test.
Possible Causes: 
  • Open or short in the BPP circuit
  • Open or short in the stoplamp circuits
  • Concern in module(s) connected to the BPP circuit
  • Damaged brake switch
  • Misadjusted brake switch
Diagnostic Aids:  Using the scan tool, check the BOO PID. The BOO PID should toggle on and off with brake pedal activation.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
